Description
A blank gig poster for The Beguine Bothers from St. Paul, Minnesota.
Printed on a Triumph proof press with linoleum block logo and wood type.
Brown ink
8.5″x14″ 24 lb. tan paper
TRIVIA: The Beguine Brothers were the first band that wasn’t a friend or family member to hire me to make gig posters.
TRIVIA: This poster was the second version I created for the band. The first was just black in on white paper, without the stylized logo, and featured a rocking chair, printed from a hand-carved wood block. The band wanted it included on this new version, but I couldn’t squeeze it in with the rest of they type, so it was included as a ghost image in the lower left corner.
TRIVIA: This might be the first poster to include the zinc engraving with the Tin Can Valley logo in the lower right corner.
