Description

From an Oxbow Boys gig at The Green Lantern coffee house in Winona, Minnesota (probably 2004). Printed on a Triumph proof press with wood and metal type and a hand-carved wood block.

8.5″x11″ probably on some Wausau 24 lb. Astrobright green.

Print run: 25-50? No records, no numbers.

TRIVIA: This would be the very first of many lantern printing blocks that I have carved. I was attempting to replicate an image in an old newspaper of an advertisement for a cafe, also called The Green Lantern, that was in Gaylord, Minnesota, but had long since closed.

MORE TRIVIA: The Green Lantern in Winona was, at the time, owned by the infamous marionette artist Dr. Bob Armstrong. It’s been closed since at least 2006, but last I checked, there was still an Angelfire website up!
